ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Responsible to run and coordinate work of Inserters in the operation of all mailroom equipment including insert machines, stackers, strappers, and other equipment. Retrieves and stages inserts correctly and promptly. Assists Packaging Supervisor with inserter work assignments to redistribute resources as needed. Assumes primary operator position or inserter position when required. Performs other duties as assigned. Operate packaging equipment in production workflow. Fully set up and run all inserting and downline equipment used in the Packaging operation. Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues, set up problems and and repair to meet established deadlines. Train newly hired employees how to operate mailroom equipment properly and safely. Adheres to all safety policies and procedures. Assist in the proper maintenance of all packaging equipment as instructed by mailroom supervisor or production manager. Performs the daily maintenance, set-up, and cleanup of mailroom equipment. Required Skills NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Excellent problem solving skills, able to troubleshoot mechanical or set-up problems and find a solution is helpful. Also, the ability to make on the spot adjustments to workflow and planning to insure completion of the product on deadline. The incumbent must possess a working knowledge of all packaging equipment and the operation of the equipment. Must have good interpersonal skills to communicate with supervisors and co-workers. Able to adapt to day-to-day changes of production schedules Demonstrates strong organizational skills/attention to detail/quality and customer focused Licensed to operate forklift and pallet jack Able to perform all duties of the Inserter
