No relocation provided Sales Account manager - New Product /Customer development Reports To: V.P Sales & Marketing POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting directly to the Vice President of Sales & Marketing and indirectly to the President of The SAM – new sales will be responsible for both sales of existing products and services to existing customers and to a greater degree, develops new customers by identifying their needs; engineering adaptations to present my client’s products and services. This position involves all aspects of new order activity from initial industry applications thru to potential customer base, initial customer contact and development, quoting, technical assistance, prospecting, follow up, order entry, monitoring and communicating order and/or shipment status checks as well as any additional tasks required to assure quick and prompt response to the customer’s needs. The position requires a high level of professionalism, drive and competency coupled with product knowledge including all skills necessary for effective professional communication to the customer as well as representing the customer’s requirements to the appropriate departments. Travel will also be required as needed. ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Performs detailed market research for new potential customers in new segments for both current products and services as well as new products and services that fit within my client’s present and future manufacturing capabilities. • Identifies current and future customer service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual customers and other persons in a position to understand service requirements. • Provides product, service, or equipment technical and engineering information by answering questions and requests. • Prepares cost estimates by studying blueprints, plans, and related customer documents; consulting with engineers, architects, and other professional and technical personnel. • Determines improvements by analyzing cost-benefit ratios of equipment, supplies, or service applications in customer environment; engineering or proposing changes in equipment, processes, or use of materials or services. • Gains customer acceptance by explaining or demonstrating cost reductions and operations improvements. • Submits orders by conferring with technical support staff; costing engineering changes. • Develops customer's staff by providing technical information and training. • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; advising customer on product, service, or equipment adherence to requirements; advising customer on needed actions. • Prepares sales engineering reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing sales information and engineering and application trends. • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. Salaried Position Description • Contributes to sales engineering effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options and courses of action; implementing directives. • Gathers quotation request data from the customer • Receives customers' requests and analyzes requests as to completeness of information. • Inquiries to customer any additional information needed to complete task • Prepares, delivers and follows up on quotations, proposals and technical inquiries per established procedures and guidelines • Process orders per established procedures and work instructions • Resolves with the customer questions related to orders • Acts as liaison for both the internal and external customer and communicates clearly all gathered information to assure My client’s and its customers requirement are met. • Issues Material Return Authorizations (MRA) as required • Reports marketing date obtained through customer communications to Management • Any other miscellaneous duties as required • Supplies customer visit summary reports. Development: • Continual product training o Features and Benefits • Industry knowledge and terminologies o Machines - machining o Processes - technology o Materials – My client’s, customers, o Competitors o Markets, potential customers, o Industry news Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing with a technical background or an engineering degree (MSEE) degree with sales, marketing experience and 5 year related sales experience in machined products and/or fabrications or 15 plus years of progressive experience in sales.
